The event has been held in the beautiful surroundings of the Sant Pau Art Nouveau site since 2013, and during the 33rd edition celebrated this week, a mix of 24 emerging designers and established brands presented their ideas of what should be in vogue for 2024.
From its beginnings as a local event called Pasarel•la Gaudí in the 80s, 080 Barcelona Fashion has grown from being a locally focused event to catching the eye of the international fashion world, all thanks to the unique mix of Catalan textile tradition and a focus on sustainability and designing for a diverse audience.
Marta Coca, the project manager of 080 Barcelona Fashion, gives us a birds’s eye view of the event and its evolution, and we go backstage to catch up with designers Eva Dimas of Simorra and Alejandra Valero of Hoss Intropia, who unveil their latest collections and the inspiration behind them.
Lorcan Doherty joins Lea Beliaeva Bander to talk about all things fashion, discuss the latest trends seen at this edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion and make some recommendations on emerging designers to keep an eye out for.
This week’s Catalan phrase is “passat de moda”, which means to be “out of fashion.”
